Experience nature in the glacier gorge

A few hundred years ago, the gorge of the Lower Grindelwald Glacier was still covered in ice. It has since become accessible through rock galleries and tunnels. Nothing of the glacier itself can be seen today. But the force with which it shaped the landscape can still be felt. The 300 m high rock faces of the glacier gorge still bear witness to the incredible power of the former ice masses. Venture into the spectacular gorge, take a look back at past ice ages, listen to the rushing waters of the Lütschine and be enchanted by the play of light.

As if carried by a spider's web

The glacier gorge not only offers an impressive natural experience, but also exciting information for all ages on the topics of geology, glaciers, water and myths. A special highlight is the large "Spiderweb", a walkable net construction stretched across the gorge, thanks to which you can cross the gorge seven meters above the Lütschine and enjoy a unique view of the thundering masses of water.

Travel, meals and group admissions

From Grindelwald railroad station, you can reach the gorge in half an hour on foot or by bus. You can eat at the restaurant at the entrance to the gorge before or after your visit.
