Nature experience in the glacier gorge

A few hundred years ago the gorge of the Lower Grindelwald Glacier was still covered by ice. In the meantime it has become accessible through rock galleries and tunnels. Today there is nothing left of the glacier itself. But the force with which it shaped the landscape is still noticeable. The 300 m high rock walls of the glacier gorge still bear witness to the incredible power of the former ice masses. Venture into the spectacular gorge, take a look back at the past ice ages, listen to the rushing waters of the Lütschine and be enchanted by the play of light.

As if carried by a spider's web

The glacier gorge not only offers an impressive nature experience, but also exciting information for all ages on the topics of geology, glaciers, water and myths. A special highlight is the large "Spiderweb", an accessible net construction stretched across the gorge, thanks to which you can cross the gorge seven metres above the Lütschine and enjoy a unique view of the thunderous masses of water.

Arrival, meals and group admissions

From Grindelwald railway station you can reach the gorge on a half-hour walk or by bus. In the restaurant at the entrance to the gorge you can eat before or after your visit to the gorge. Would you like to visit the gorge at your leisure with your whole team? Groups of ten people or more can be admitted before or after the regular opening hours ("Early Morning" and/or "Late Night").
