Welcome to the world of ice
Your starting point is in Adelboden, where you will be given the equipment you need before heading for the base station of the mountain railway and then up the Engstligenalp in the company of your mountain guide. A fascinating frozen world lies close to the top station, and here you can get to know the art of ice climbing. The exact running order is subject to the actual ice and snow conditions.
A strong team
No prior knowledge is required, and even beginners are introduced to ice climbing gently and professionally by qualified mountain guides. In small groups you'll be able to learn how to ensure each others' safety and move across the ice, as well as getting many useful tips and tricks. After the introduction you can secure each other and climb on your own - still with professional supervision. All this fosters mutual trust and strengthens team spirit.
Drinks on the ice
Once you have finished climbing, you can enjoy a well-deserved aperitif at the top of the icefall. Gaze up with pride at the climb you've made and enjoy an aperitif comprising a glass of punch or tea per person, "winter magic", breads and dried fruit. After a this cosy get-together you can walk back to the Engstligenalpbahn station and let the train take you back down into the valley.
