Doing something good together

At first glance, the clean-up event causes astonishment: "Collecting other people's waste on the street? And that too voluntarily?" On further inspection, it becomes more and more attractive: as a team, you do something good for the environment and society, discover new places during the neighborhood walk, actively move around outside, and have time to chat at the same time. What better way to beat the office grind?

Content and goal of the clean-up event

The expert who moderates the clean-up event and conducts it with you has already led more than 50 clean-ups in the Bern area to draw attention to the many consequences and problems of litter and "littering" ("littering" is the throwing away of waste into the environment; the throwing away of packaging without first sorting it). In this activity, you will roam a city neighborhood as a group and rid it of litter lying around. At the end, the collected garbage is neatly separated and, if possible, recycled. In the process, it becomes impressively clear what is left lying around in nature. They learn something about our consumer behavior and about possible solutions to the waste problem.

With analysis and evaluation ("Brand Audit")

If you "only" collect the waste and dispose of it correctly, the event will take about two and a half hours. Does your time budget have an additional hour? Then a "brand audit" can also be carried out on request. In this case, the collected waste is statistically recorded according to brand, material and quantity. The data is then made available to the NGO "Break Free From Plastic". In this way, you are also indirectly doing something against global plastic pollution with your action. At the end, you also vote on which NGO or ecologically active foundation should receive your donation.
