You find the treasure?
With geocaching you go on a modern treasure hunt, equipped with GPS receivers, compass and map. While some geocaches can be found directly via their coordinates, others require you to solve puzzles first. Also the terrain is differently difficult: not every geocache is right next to the hiking trail!
Looting is not allowed!
If you come across a waterproof box containing a logbook and various small items of exchange, you have tracked down the geocache. You can enter your name in the logbook and exchange one of the items for one of your own - at least of equal value. Then hide the treasure again where you found it.
Challenge in the team
Geocaching requires not only fast legs, but also brains. Compete in teams of two and prove your skills in navigating, puzzling and finding geocaches. After this workshop you will be able to search for one of the 5000 geocaches hidden in Switzerland on your own.
Adventures in nature
The starting point of this geocaching workshop is a converted barn in Wisen (SO). The geocaching practice area covers 1.5 square kilometres around the Wisenberg (BL/SO). There are 24 geocaches hidden in the area. It is not only important to find the treasures - during the search, equal importance is attached to taking care of nature.
