Rendezvous with silkworms
Did you know that silkworms are bred not only in the Far East, but also in the Bern region? On your varied hike with magnificent views of the Alps, you will visit a farm west of Bern. After an aperitif with fine regional products, you will experience a guided tour of the silkworm breeding and the organic farm. You will learn a lot of exciting things about Swiss silk production and, depending on the time on site, you can also observe live animals or at least get to know the farm better live and through a film.
Details of the hike
Your guided hike begins in Heggidorn. After visiting the organic farm with silkworm breeding, you continue leisurely over fields and through the forest to Laupen (day's destination). It is an easy hike (T1) with 250 metres ascent and 400 metres descent. The pure hiking time is 3.5 hours.
