Vehicle with balloon drive
Recycled materials become racing cars: you and your team will find out how to do this in this workshop. With the right tips and tricks from the professionals, a selection of everyday materials and good ideas, you will construct a vehicle that can travel several meters with the help of a self-built drive.
The main component is a PET bottle: this is converted into a car using "components" such as toothpicks, a balloon and rubber bands. The balloon serves as the drive that gives the vehicle the necessary thrust.
Optics and speed
You design your vehicle in small groups of four people and have a free hand: At the end, the appearance of your car will be assessed and its speed tested.
Of course, the car build also includes a test drive - and, if necessary, the subsequent fine-tuning. Then comes the grand finale: the race runs. The winner is the team that can cover the furthest distance on one tank of fuel. But watch out: Those who have developed a particularly creative model can earn advantage points.
