Getting down to business together
In this course, you and your team will learn what your grandmothers and great-grandmothers still knew how to do: Fermenting vegetables into specialties such as sauerkraut and making a delicious jam from fruit. You will also discover how to prepare Asian delicacies such as kimchi and spicy chutney. At the end of the course, you will go home with lots of new ideas as well as homemade kimchi and your own confit or chutney.
What is the preserving know-how good for?
On the one hand, with the appropriate knowledge, you can prepare yourself optimally for processing surpluses from your own garden or fridge and thus prevent valuable food from being wasted (food waste). On the other hand, the preserved fruit and fermented vegetables provide you with valuable nutrients during the winter months. Of course, the prepared specialties are also extremely tasty!
Further tips and inputs
Between shredding and kneading, you will learn more about the topic of food waste in Switzerland. You will receive tips on what you can do about it in your household and plenty of input on preserving:
- What are the most important preservation techniques
- What you need to bear in mind to ensure that your preserves last longer
In addition to the preserves, you can also take home a recipe dossier and information material on the topic of food waste.
Enjoyable conclusion
After all the preserving and absorbing of inspiring information, there will be a food-save snack, i.e. a delicious meal made from rescued food with a tasting of preserves. This is another opportunity to exchange recipes and experiences, ask questions and, last but not least, to foster team spirit in a cozy get-together.
