Old craft
This fascinating printing method uses sunlight or UV light to create breathtaking images in deep blue - cyan blue. This is where cyanotype gets its name from. It was developed as a noble photographic printing process in the 19th century. In this workshop, you will learn from professional artists how the technique works. A specially coated paper is exposed to light, causing the characteristic color to develop. The result: almost magical-looking images that are reminiscent of shadow plays or botanical illustrations.
How to create your individual work of art
- Create: Choose materials such as leaves, flowers, lace fabrics or your own templates and arrange them on the light-sensitive paper.
- Exposure: Let the sun or a UV lamp do the work - the light changes the paper and reveals the contours of your objects.
- Developing: After rinsing with water, the cyan blue image will gradually reveal itself.
Creative collaboration
The printing workshop not only allows you to get to know a traditional craft technique and learn something new - it also promotes creativity and teamwork. You will be encouraged to design freely and come up with new ideas in an informal atmosphere. On completion, all participants can take their picture home with them - perhaps as decoration for your office space?
