The Basel specialty and its history
You will be welcomed to the baking workshop for Basler Läckerli in a historical building in the city. During the introduction, you will learn that the gingerbread-like pastry is made from wheat flour, candied fruit and nuts. The history of the Basel specialty is also a topic of the workshop before you start baking.
Mix, knead, bake
They say that too many cooks spoil the broth, but it's better to bake in pairs: in teams of two, you set yourself the task of making your own authentic Basler Läckerli. The first step is to mix the right ingredients. Then the dough is kneaded and rolled out. Finally, you can cut the Läckerli into the right shape - and the specialty is ready for the oven.
Drink with the team
While the pastries are slowly baked in the oven until they are ready to eat, the team enjoys a cozy drink with white wine, jus and olive cakes. Once the Läckerli have cooled, they can be filled into pretty little bags and then taken home. If you don't have time for the drink, your Basler Läckerli will be sent to you by post. The workshop is also suitable for baking a personal gift for employees or business partners.
