Almost a bit like a vacation
It almost feels a bit like a summer vacation in France: Meet up with your team, club colleagues or friends in the middle of Bern and play a quiet game of pétanque. Let the workshop leader, an experienced pétanque player, introduce you to the French game.
Strategy, tactics and a bit of vocabulary
Before the first ball rolls, we will familiarize you with the rules. Depending on the size of the group, the game is played in different formations:
- Tête-à-Tête: A duel one-on-one (3 balls each)
- Doublette: Two against two (3 balls each).
- Triplette: Three against three (2 balls each).
The aim is simple but tricky: get your metal ball as close as possible to the small wooden target ball, the "cochonnet" (little pig). But be careful: a perfectly placed ball can be knocked away by your opponent at any time with a well-aimed shot. Pétanque is therefore a game for tacticians, which impresses above all with its sociability and pure fun.
Venues
The game is played either in Marzili Park or on another public court in Bern or the surrounding area. If the weather is bad, there is the option of playing in the boules hall with seven lanes.
