Teamwork is required
Making music with the angklung, the traditional bamboo instruments from Indonesia, is about creating a collective work. Each angklung consists of two or three movable bamboo tubes cut to specific lengths, which produce their characteristic sound when gently shaken. The full melody only emerges when many instruments play together - a fascinating symbol of teamwork and collective action.
The workshop
Under expert guidance, you will learn how to play the instrument in just a few minutes and soon you will be playing your first songs. Whether pop, folk or well-known evergreens - within 1.5 to 2 hours, a repertoire of three to four songs is created, which all participants play together, without any previous musical knowledge.
If desired, the result can be presented in a short performance. If participants also play other instruments, it is also possible to add these to the performance.
