Raft construction requires teamwork
Raft building begins with planning. Later, it is built with tree trunks and ropes. Teamwork, consultation and lots of creativity are required. At the end, the raft is tested together. Does your raft float on the water? Find out with your team.
Communication and role allocation
Teams learn how to function when building rafts. The teams' skills are put to the test as early as the planning stage and then during the construction of their own raft. Is the coordination successful? Communication, leadership, dealing with time pressure and finding solutions together are key aspects of raft building.
Different ideas usually come together. Your team has to discuss and evaluate them. An entire raft that floats on water must be created from the individual raft components.
This allows teams to experience typical working life processes in a playful way, ideally with a positive sense of achievement at the end.
A highlight on the water
The final moment on the water is the emotional highlight of the event for many teams. Whether the raft floats stably, is maneuverable and is carried together immediately shows how well cooperation and coordination have worked. Both successes and minor setbacks are experienced together and strengthen the sense of togetherness in the long term.
