The Fascinating World of Gin
Gin is much more than just the base for a refreshing tonic. The history of this popular juniper-flavored spirit dates back to the 17th century. Dutch doctors originally invented “Genever” as a medicine. English soldiers eventually brought the drink to Great Britain, where it began its global conquest as “gin.” Today, the spirit is experiencing an artisanal renaissance with countless regional botanicals. Discover the secrets of gin in this exclusive workshop and create your own flavor blend!
The Workshop
The gin workshop is perfect for anyone who’d like to step into the role of an alchemist for a change. Over the course of about three hours, you’ll learn everything there is to know about the history of gin and how it’s made. Together with your colleagues, your team, or friends, you’ll immerse yourselves in the world of botanicals and distillates.
After a tour of the premises and an introduction to the art of distillation, you’ll create —rejuvenated by warm appetizers and delicious drinks—your very own gin using 51 different botanicals, which all participants can then take home in an elegant gift case.
The light bites served during the workshop do not constitute a full meal. We recommend that you do not arrive at the workshop on an entirely empty stomach.
