In this course you will learn the art of traditional Swiss paper cutting and create your own picture under expert guidance.

Cutting with the cutter

Would you like to do something creative and get to know a Swiss tradition better at the same time? Then the paper-cutting workshop is the right thing for you - whether as a special team event or as an activity among art-loving friends. The studio is located in Villars-sur-Ollon (VD), or the instructor will be happy to travel to your desired location within the cantons of Vaud and Valais.

A very special tool is used to make your paper cutting a success: the cutter. At the beginning of the workshop, you will learn how to use this cutting utensil. The cutter is precise and light and is held like a pencil.

You will practise cutting straight and curved lines and various shapes under the professional guidance of the workshop leader. The instructor will use simple exercises to show you why the direction of the cut is important, which movements make your work easier and which mistakes to avoid.

Traditional motifs

Even without artistic skills, you will achieve beautiful results in this workshop. The instructor will have a selection of different traditional motifs from which you can choose the picture of your choice. Now it's time to cut it out as skillfully as possible - no problem with the expert tips and tricks of your workshop leader.

As soon as the silhouette is finished, it's time to glue it on. Your work of art is now taking shape. One thing is still missing to complete it: a suitable frame for your picture. Of course, the instructor will also provide this. After the workshop, you will go home with your framed silhouette - a special memento.
